What is Reality?

This is a posing question that many have pondered, so I shall attempt to describe Reality and the characteristics of experiencing Reality as best I can, knowing that words fall short in trying to describe such an experience.

Reality is a complete and already whole, living, dynamic flow of energy. When one becomes aware of it, one becomes aware of being it. When one becomes aware of being it, identity falls away and there is only One, and there is only Now. For nothing else exists.

There is no separation. There is no you or I, or us or them. There is only Oneness and that Is everything. Reality is everything. At the same time Reality is nothing. It is a vast expanse of nothingness, and it is this nothingness that scares us. But if we sit with the experience of nothingness we eventually find everything. This sounds a bit strange I know, but once you have experienced what I am trying to describe this makes complete sense.

Such is the paradox of Reality, a Universal paradox of the Divine Consciousness at play. It defies explanation because it is beyond thought and beyond words. It just Is. Our analytical minds will always seek to undertand and explain this in a rational, linear way but Reality is beyond both because it is beyond form.

Reality is a complete and already whole, living, dynamic flow of energy. When one becomes aware of it, one becomes aware of being it. When one becomes aware of being it, identity falls away and there is only One, and there is only Now. For nothing else exists.

Identification Versus Reality

As human beings born into the flesh, we fear the emptiness, the nothingness that lies at the core of our being, because we believe that we as individuals exist. It is our greatest fear that one day we might realize that we are in fact nothing, that beyond this nothingness we don’t exist as the separate individuals we believe ourselves to be. (We being the little ‘self’ that we think we are, versus the reality of our existence as ‘Self’ that does exist.)

Identifying with being a separate individual is a trick, an illusion created merely so that we will wake up to the Reality of our Existence as being One Supreme Consciousness. Identification serves one purpose only – to create enough pain and suffering that we will choose to awaken to Reality.

We resist or fight against the belief that we are nothing most of our lives, or avoid it, deny it, run from it or push it away. All the time creating more illusion that we believe to be real – our persona, our personality, our life history or story, our feelings, beliefs and opinions, all in justification that because the mind can think, that our thoughts must be real. So we, as what our minds believe us to be, must be truth. We must exist. We cannot therefore be no-thing.

Can you remember the philosophers quote ‘I think, therefore I am.‘ Be aware, for this belief will keep you in a rut of mind play. The truth is not that “I think, therefore I am”, the Truth is that “I am Self and All is Self”. Mind and thoughts are merely distractions from Reality, although seemingly powerful ones at that!

The Truth of Reality

What is Reality?Reality on the other hand is all-powerful and all-pervading. We are in it and of it. All encompassing, omnipotent, omnipresent and eternal. Instead of separate and identified with thought or form, there is Oneness beyond form. We exist beyond form.

Reality is also the microcosm and the macrocosm. It is the vast reaches of the Universe, and the smallest microbe or atom.

Instead of disconnection and separation, there is only connection and connectedness. There is unity between All things, and All is united as One.

Within Reality the individual disappears, thoughts disappear and the mind disappears. We laugh at what we once belied to be true as there is such joy in remembering Self, in remembering and awakening again to Reality.

Before there were perceived boundaries, but Now in Truth there are none.
Everything is connected. Everything is perfect. Everything is whole.

This is Reality – a living, dynamic flow of energy that we become increasingly aware of until we remember that there is no-thing else. Our identity falls away and there is only One, and there is only Now.

I hope that from this you can grasp a taste of what Reality is and what it feels like to surrender thought and the ego to it’s Truth. If you already know the experience of Reality I am very pleased for you and would love you to comment below.

Blessings,

Calisha
